As a member of the Sauce Pizza & Wine kitchen team, it is the prep cook’s primary responsibility to prepare the highest quality food consistently and effectively. The prep cook plays an integral role in the financial results of the restaurant. It is the prep cook’s responsibility to accurately and efficiently cook meats, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking.


• Know and follow all Sauce policies & procedures
• Understand and follow each recipe included in our recipe book (without any shortcuts or alterations)
• Complete entire prep list in a timely manner following our sanitation standards (proper cooking temps, cooling procedures, etc.) to be determined by KM
• Properly use our labeling system for all prepped products
• Must have a complete understanding of our cooking line
• Will be required to help or run a line station during lunch and dinner rushes
• Responsible for putting product away as it is received, utilizing our rotation system (FIFO), use first labels, and inspecting all products to ensure quality standards are met
• Zone and maintain walk-in
• Responsible for daily side work to be completed by shifts end, and checked by KM
• Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
• Know and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including spice rack, stove, oven, tables, and shelves
• Understand and follow proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor


• A minimum of 2 years experience in kitchen preparation and cooking; at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, loud environment for long periods of time
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
• Must follow safety procedures closely
• Must be able to work on holidays and/or weekends
